Biography & Education

I was drawn to OB/GYN due to the unique care issues for women from puberty through menopause. While I enjoy challenging surgery, especially laparoscopic and vaginal approaches, I will endever to find a nonsurgical approach whenever appropriate. In OB the goal is to keep the pregnancy low-risk, but my experience with both high- and low-risk OB, allows me to deal with difficult pregnancies with confidence.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

[...] I didn't feel comfortable with the NPs I saw but Dr. Friele was great and gave me a lot of peace of mind.

Overall provider was good - just first impression was she talked to quick & used medical jargon I couldn't understand.
Swedish Patient

Made statements that felt like judgements.
Swedish Patient

Dr. Friele was condescending and dismissive of my concerns. This was especially distressing since my symptoms had worsened considerably since my first visit with her [...]
Swedish Patient

All was awesome. Wish I'd come to her years ago.
Swedish Patient

I especially like the amount of time Dr. Friehle spends with me and the important information she shares with me no matter how big or little. She is very thorough and she is very well informed about diseases or predisposed conditions that are specific to various races of people. She's amazing and is always up to date with treatments and cutting edge practices.

I will follow up with this provider for my next pregnancy
Swedish Patient

Dr. Friele had/has no bedside manner. She showed no sympathy or care. When I commented about being excited to get pregnant, she actually said sternly, "better hurry up, you're ovaries are getting old!"
Swedish Patient

After having inadequate treatment by providers who didn't understand what I was dealing with, it's like a breath of fresh air to be seeing Dr. Friele. She is hands down the most knowledgeable doctor I have seen for my conditions, and I look forward to continuing my care with her.
Swedish Patient

I've been coming to Swedish healthcare for women for years. Excellent!
Swedish Patient

she is an excellent provider!!!

Dr. Friele was teaching someone; this was only my second pelvic exam ever, and it was made especially stressful by the inclusion of an observer. I didn't expect to have an observer in the room while I was stripped (Dr. Friele removed my top without forewarning me that's what she was doing) and then probed for the pelvic exam. It was remarkably stressful and made me very uncomfortable.
