Additional Information:Dr. Brand is a board-certified sports medicine physician. He provides complete non- operative care of sports and activity-related conditions of muscle, bone, joints and nervous system in the adult and adolescent. He specializes in guided diagnostic and therapeutic injections utilizing musculoskeletal ultrasound, x-ray and electrodiagnostic medicine.
Dr. Brand has served as a Sports Medicine Doctor for the London Olympics and Paralympics, Boston Marathon and Head of the Charles Regatta and helped train 25% of the Australian Olympic Team in 2006. He has also provided sports medicine coverage to multiple teams at the high-school and collegiate levels.
Dr. Brand has multiple publications and presentations on sports medicine, recently speaking on rowing biomechanics at Harvard and The Mayo Clinic. He also served as a voice of the National Physical Activity Plan.

A former national champion rower and coach at University of Washington and Oxford, Dr. Brand sees himself as a “medical coach;” employing a holistic approach that emphasizes listening, individualized treatment, education and coordination of care with a multi-disciplinary team of specialists focused on injury prevention, rehabilitation and performance enhancement. His goal is to help facilitate wellness, life-long activity and quality lifestyle.
Personal InterestsA 5th generation Puget Sound resident and 3rd generation Husky athlete, Dr. Brand grew up playing football, basketball, soccer, wrestling, track and field, sailing, rowing as well as other sports in the mountains and sound; now enjoying anything active and social such as watersports, snowshoeing or flag football. A Phi Beta Kappa in Comparative History of Ideas at UW, he also loves learning about other cultures.
