Biography
Good healthcare is dependent on a trusting relationship between a patient and physician. My goal is to build a relationship with my patients to promote wellness and well-being in the hope of preventing illness and disease. However, trust is conditional and requires time and effort from all parties involved to develop.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

This was not my normal physician so there was really no connection or much interest in me.

This doctor's first words were "ok i don't have much time...." which, in my opinion sets the tone for an unpleasant experience. knowing he was in a hurry, and him talking fast and with an apparent non-concern for me, was not something i appreciated. I understand that he's busy but, at that moment, i the patient should feel like the most important person in his world. i'm there for a problem and even if his mind is elsewhere (which i hope it's not), i'd hope he'd give the courtesy to show more respect. After he spoke too fast for me to understand and i asked him to repeat things, he did and it was fine, but he needs to slow down! i would highly recommend this location and have enjoyed it previously for years but, i would not recommend this doctor. When he entered the room, the doctor said "have we met?" despite the fact that I established care with him about 11 months ago as my PCP and he had my chart in his hand. Then the doctor cut me off mid-sentence as I tried to give history of the type of rash I was experiencing, curtly stating "I only want to know about the rash you are experiencing right now." He provided diagnosis within about three minutes and prescribed an anti-fungal cream. The amount prescribed was not enough to cover the affected area twice much less twice a day for two weeks. The provider also did not indicate that the medication was available over-the-counter, which I learned from the pharmacist. Finally, as I expressed concern about a general itchiness that I had been experiencing in other parts of my body over the last six weeks he quickly attributed it to the "generalized anxiety" he saw listed in my chart. He may be right, but he did not ask any clarifying questions or seem to care about my concern.

I've seen Dr. Etzkorn twice now and he's not my normal doctor that I see in that clinic. I have a feeling he knows the medical piece really well, but his bedside manner is not great. He appears bored and disinterested when discussing my health concerns. There is no invitation to discuss the health concern, it's more closer to asking questions and then he types while you respond to the question. So there is no eye contact and no real ability to engage or connect to the doctor. I thought the first time I saw him that I may have caught him on an off day, but this was my second visit for another health concern and he interacted the same way as the first time. He makes me feel that he is not invested in my care or really interested to be meeting with me as a patient.

I just started seeing this doctor this year and there has been a period of getting to know him. I feel that he has gotten better, at least with me, at explaining the causes of my ailments and why he prescribes the medications that he suggests.

Very knowledgeable and reassuring, but not very personable - quite mundane.

I arrived on time to my appointment yet the first words out of my provider's mouth were something about not having much time so this would have to be quick. [...] I feel like I'm a number, just being rushed through as quickly as possible [...] I'm not made to feel like I'm actually cared about.

I was relieved to know the source of my illness. Still need assistance in replacing one of my medications which is causing me more pain and nausea but overall satisfied.

Polite, but not an outwardly warm person... just personality... common among surgeons, I've found.

This was not my normal doctor, and I would not recommend him or see him again. He spent very little time with me and seemed like he was in a hurry to leave for the day. He was very dismissive and I do not feel like he was fully listening to me. I went in for irritation in my eye and was told there was nothing in it or anything he could do other than prescribe me eye drops that were available OTC. I saw an eye specialist two days later and there was something in my eye that had to be removed.

I have only seen the doctor for a few visits and have not yet formed a long term opinion about him. He seems very knowledgeable but can be intimidating. He has been getting noticeably better with his interface with patients.

He didn't seem to care to even figure out what was wrong. He just didn't know and that was it.
