Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

I love Dr. Naheed Esmail and will stay with him as long as I am able. He really cares about me and my health. I love the way he takes the time to really see how I am doing both medically but personally as well.

Overall, I've had good experiences with Dr. Esmail, though I sometimes feel like my concerns are not listened to carefully. I feel like I'm being treated like a hypochondriac sometimes when it is not warranted...enough that I've often considered seeking a second opinion or switching care providers altogether.

Very relevant - exacting what I want.

Good experience

Need Esmail is one of the best primary care physicians I have ever had.he is finally thorough and very knowledgeable. I feel that he has a real concern and a genuine interest in helping me be as healthy as I can be. Dr Esmail has an excellent doctor patient rapport

my doctor always make me feel very comfortable which is most important aspect of going to hospital for me

Dr Ismail has such a wonderful bedside manner. I will always use him as my provider, and my husband will too! He is patient, kind, knowledgeable and remembers my history although I am not in there often. I do wish sometimes he would see that I am as sick as I think I am - he tends to feel my illness is not significant. But I chalk this up to the fact that I wait too long to come in and by the time ingest there, the illness is on its way out. He is the best dr we have ever had, and we have had many.

Dr. Esmail has been my physician for at least 13 years. He has always taken great care to listen, respect and treat any health concerns or problems I have had. He is sensitive to our low income concerns and has my complete trust. So far, I'm lucky to have had very few issues to deal with. Migraines and high blood pressure. I consider him to be responsible for completely eliminating the massive number of monthly migraines I had for many years, and my blood pressure is closely monitored and under control thanks to Dr. Esmail.

It was really a very pleasant experience. I felt the doctor understood my concerns and addressed them.

The care I've received from Dr. Esmail over the years has been excellent. My only suggestion would be that he give the patient more of an opportunity to ask questions and have a dialog. There have been some (admittedly rare) occasions in the past where he seemed too quick to dismiss or discount concerns I had about my health and/or meds.

Doctor was great, really got the impression that he cared about me and was very easy to talk with and understand when it came to what he explained to me.

My dad has has 3 incidents of mis-diagnosis so I would not recommend him to others [...]

best ever

Dr. Esmail was very thorough in getting to know my medical history and the issues I am experiencing after prostrate cancer surgery. I appreciated his concern.

I believe the Doc is capable of excellent communication. My concern is a gap between us in 'zeroing in' on exactly what I need to do to achieve better results. Specifics. With a definitive plan, I believe things would be more clear to me. I don't know if this is beyond the purview of the visit or is limited by time constraints. I'm sure it's more clear to the Doc than it is to me, so I need a bit more 'tutoring' as to the specifics of achieving the goal. Just a bit. I think he's doing the best he can, so it may require a different approach to get it to sink into my mind and get my motivation up.

I don't like having to schedule a follow-up appointment just to take 10 minutes to discuss my (hopefully) uninteresting results. If I may have a serious illness (knock on wood), then I understand having to meet personally with my practitioner. However, it's not convenient to schedule even one appointment, much less two.

I've received care from Dr Esmail for nearly 13 years. He listens carefully, provides good feedback, keeps me informed when I'm concerned about test results, suggests areas for improvement without being didactic or condescending. I believe his holistic approach to medical care is a critical factor in my ongoing good health.

Dismissive of symptoms. On two occasions has told me that I would have to make another appointment to discuss a medical issue, even though he had spent less than 15 minutes with me.

Dr. esmail is always professional
