Having a healthy road to pregnancy

December 17, 2014

If you’ve been thinking about getting pregnant, here are some steps to take before your pregnancy to ensure a healthy and successful journey to becoming a mom.

The spinal cord forms and closes by four weeks gestation, before many women even know that they are pregnant, so it’s important to get on this early.

  2. Starting pregnancy at a healthy weight decreases your risk of complications of pregnancy like high blood pressure and gestational diabetes. Good control of chronic medical problems will also help a future pregnancy go much more smoothly.

About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

Dr. Droz is always on time or ahead of schedule. I appreciate that very much. She does not seem to be rushing to keep on schedule either. She and her staff appear to be extremely competent and efficient. And they work well together. I like going to the doctor knowing it will be quick and easy with no waiting around for my turn.

I am in my first pregnancy and feel like I need a more personal relationship with my doctor. The provider I am seeing seems rushed and spends very little time with me. I am going to attempt a natural birth if all goes well and I am under impression that my provider specializes more in interventions and high risk pregnancies. I asked a few times about the process of natural birth and got very short answers.
