Patient Ratings and Comments

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

[...] Dr. Dong was recommended to me by another retired physician. This was the best advice I could have received. When in cancer treatment, you want the most supportive, helpful and knowledgeable person and I have that now with Dr. Dong. [...] I just don't think I could have been as successful going through my treatment if I had not had him as my physician. He was hones, open, listened to my concerns and discussed options with me throughout my treatment. I feel blessed to have him and I recommend him to anyone i talk to concerning this area.

I have expressed to Dr Dong that I am concerned mostly about my palliative care given that I have an incurable disease. My current treatment plan is adequate for now as we watch and wait for other possible treatments or even a cure. [...] I have confirmed with another hospital and Dr that watching and waiting is a viable option. [...]

We always recommend Dr. Dong to fellow cancer patients. He's the best! I'm looking forward to the day that we don't have to recommend him because there has been a cure for cancer found!

Physician was very distressed over the delay in time before seeing me. He appeared very stressed and distracted, even though he appears to be very thorough and well-meaning. Something had definitely changed in his demeanor from the 1st time, lacking same empathy and effort he had displayed in his prior 1st appointment visit.
