Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

I should have called the previous doctor I had rather than establish care with Dr. Chan. He walked in the room, confirmed that I had what I expected, told me he couldn't treat it. He seemed disgusted that I wasted his time.
Swedish Patient

[...] His lack of interest my care was off-putting and unprofessional.
Swedish Patient

[...] he walked in and didn't even bother to look at me, just announced what was wrong with me and started typing it into the computer. I had the "nerve" to say "are you sure?" and instead of, I don't know, pointing at my toe and being like, yeah, that's what this looks like, he said, "I'm a phys-i-cian. I know what I'm doing." [...] Left feeling unsure of the diagnosis because I felt there were details about the history of the problem I hadn't gotten to share. [...] As he said, he's the doctor--I'm not the doctor--so why does he make un-doctor people feel like they should already know the answers to their medical problems? 0/10 for bedside manner. did not give me time to even respond to his questions. voice was condescending. Dr Chan seemed like he was in a big rush, so he spent very little time w/ me. I had to ask him to inspect the range of motion in my injury, & I had to ask him about a brace or any follow-up care. I was left w/ the impression that he thought my injury was basically nonexistent.
Swedish Patient

I considered Dr. Chan to be very friendly and knowledgeable. However, he seemed to focus on many of the things I had not gone in to address [...]. I did make clear that the key reasons I had visited, along with a well overdue physical, were [...]. [...], but he simply carried on without my input: no follow up questions as to what [...] doctor that diagnosed these muscle tears, treated me, and prescribed a physical therapy routine that slowly over time helped the healing I thought. That day we did perform an X-ray on my neck for the tension, though any matter causing migraines outside of my vertebrae were unaddressed, and I have yet to hear back with any results regardless.
Swedish Patient

rushed visit. could have used some more advice. I disagreed with the treatment he recomended.

Swedish Patient

Dr. Chan is amazingly smart and efficient. I trust him 100%

Doctor Chan has told me I have an asthma even without diagnosing it! He has prescribed me the inhaler, but didn't even explain how to use it. It's serious medicine and people may use it incorrectly. It says everywhere that for the first time doctor should show how to use it. But this is even not the biggest problem. I didn't start to use the inhaler and feel good myself!!! All my family members where scared when doctor has told us such bad diagnose! I didn't have to use it before so why do I need it now? I believe the doctor didn't pay enough attention to the problem and did nothing to diagnose the problem. He didn't pay enough attention to explaining me what other medications he has prescribed for. He did'n explain me what kind of skin problems I have and what he is trying to treat with the medicine. I'm very disappointed.
Swedish Patient

Aparently I had no idea that this visit was only to be 15 minutes. I've never had a time restraint on a visit. Stranger even considering I got to see my doctor much earlier than my actual appointment time. In all the visit felt "rushed" He did say that on subsequent visits I could request a 30 minute visit.
Swedish Patient

a good experience
Swedish Patient

Dr. Chan is the man.
Swedish Patient

the provider didn't help me to understand the underlying cause of the problem (a rash) I sought treatment for. I do not know the cause or how to prevent any additional outbreaks. He did not address allergies or possible other methods to manage outbreaks.
Swedish Patient

Good: This care provider is knowledgeable. He explained clearly what my issue could be and provided a treatment option. Bad: There was a SERIOUS PROBLEM between this provider; his medical assistant and the pharmacy regarding my medication. [...]
Swedish Patient

This care provider is so good.
Swedish Patient

Very good.
Swedish Patient

He made two mistakes during my visit. First, He wrote me 2 types of medications and told me I could get it over the counter, no prescription needed. I went to the drugstore only to found out that a prescription was required for the medications. Second, the 2 medications he recommended were for acne which was not what I visited him for.
