Patient Ratings and Comments

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

Even though the front desk made me feel I had a time limit with the doctor, Dr Barto addressed all my questions and made me feel comfortable to take my time and went over everything thoroughly.

I cannot even begin to explain how much I love and appreciate Dr. Barto. She is the most attentive, caring, supporting, intelligent, provider I have ever seen. I have been through a ton these past 8 months and Dr. Barto has been there to show her care through medical and emotional treatment. She genuinely cares and it shows. Her staff is just as important and caring. I owe my life to her honestly. She helped me find a new way of living. Every month I see her, my appreciation for her increases. I would refer any and all of my family and friends to her and her office. In fact, my company just switched health insurance and I will be referring a co-worker or two her way.

Dr. Barto never makes me feel rushed. She has always stayed as long as I needed to answer all of my questions, even when we have clearly overrun the scheduled appointment time. Even when I'm the last appointment of the day, and most doctors would like to go home! I feel really lucky to have her.

In the past I've had a bad experience trying to get Dr. Barto's attention again once the appointment ended. During the appt I had forgotten a quick but important question I'd intended to ask and because of the time-sensitive nature of the question, it seemed ill-advised to wait until the next appointment 2 weeks later just to ask it. Dr. Barto was in a provider's office and this was less than 5 minutes after our appointment concluded, and she seemed to be refusing to talk to me. One of her staff had to run back and forth multiple times to act as a go-between, making the situation very public and awkward, when it would have been a simple matter to come talk to me for less than 30 seconds, and it made me feel pretty bad about our patient/provider relationship. Since then I have expressed interest in seeing other doctors, and Dr. Barto has been more accommodating and understanding in our more recent appointments, so perhaps she was just having a bad day. I understand there are formalities to be observed, but I feel like a little bit of patience and reasonable accommodation goes a long way in maintaining my faith in the person I'm working with. At least for now I consider the relationship I have with Dr. Barto to be on very positive terms.
