The holidays can be joyful but nonetheless very stressful and even depressing for some. Try to follow these simple tips for a less stressful holiday season:
- Acknowledge. Just because it’s the holidays, you don’t have to feel cheery 100%. But focus on the positives; being able to see loved ones, special friends, or just all the bright lovely lights around the city.
- Be realistic. The holidays don’t have to be picture perfect like in the magazines. I love imperfect trees and home made ornaments. Holiday memories do not have to be replicated year after year, they evolve as you do. Some years are better than others.
- Budget. Decide what your budget will be and remember that the best gifts might come in the form of your time not presents. Perhaps offering your services such as yardwork, music lesson, babysitting, housesitting or pet sitting is priceless.
