Frequently Asked Questions

As of April 4th, 2016 the physicians and caregivers of Minor & James will be joining Swedish Medical Group, or Proliance Surgeons. Most patients will not experience any significant changes. You will notice changes to the practice name, and to medical and billing forms. 


Which practices are joining with Swedish and which practices are joining with Proliance Surgeons?

The following practices are joining Swedish Medical Group:

  • Oncology & Hematology 

The following practices are joining Proliance Surgeons:

  • Audiology, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Podiatry and Urology.

Who is Proliance Surgeons?

Proliance Surgeons is one of the largest surgical practices in the country. The Seattle divisions work collaboratively with Swedish Medical Center.

Will my providers move to another location or change phone numbers?

Most providers will be in the same location and maintain the same phone number. There are two exceptions:

  • Minor & James OB/GYN will be moving to a new location:
    1101 Madison Street, Suite 700, Seattle, WA 98104.
    They will also have a new phone number:(206) 215-6300.
  • In addition, Oncology and Hematology providers will be moving to a new location:
    1221 Madison Street, Arnold Pavilion, Suite 1020, Seattle, WA 98104.
    The phone number for this clinic will remain the same (206) 386-9501.

Will the Minor & James Medical providers still be able to refer to each other if they are no longer part of the same organization?

Yes, this transition will not affect or limit a physician’s ability to refer to various providers. 

Will MyChart still work?

Yes, all of the specialties are staying on the same Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and will retain access to MyChart.

Will I need to fill out new paperwork?

Patients will not need to register again unless it has been over 12 months since last registering.

Will Proliance and Swedish Medical Group take the same insurance?

Swedish Medical Group accepts the same insurance as Minor & James Medical. Proliance Surgeons accepts mostly the same insurance providers. For questions/confirmation, please contact your insurance carrier.

What if I have questions about my bill?

For services prior to April 4th, please call the Swedish Customer Service line(206) 320-4476.For services from April 4 on:

  • For Providers transitioning to Swedish, please call Swedish Customer Service at (206) 320-4476.
  • For Providers transitioning to Proliance, please call (206) 386-3848.

Will my providers still have access to my medical records?

In general yes,as all providers will still be on the same form of electronic medical record system (i.e., Epic).
