Managing Your Physician Profile
Eligible physicians manage their own data in their profile. The profile is used to help patients and referring physicians find a physician. Many search by clinical interest; it is important to make that section as accurate and complete as possible.
To update your profile
From a desktop computer, visit www.swedish.org/cmsdesk
Enter your user name and password.
Eligible new physicians receive an email with this information after the credentialing process. Eligible physicians are those on Active status in good standing with the Swedish Medical Staff. If you're eligible and need a new username and password, visit www.swedish.org/cmsdesk and click the 'key' icon. Your username and a new temporary password will be emailed to you if the system can recognize your email address or user name. If you are eligible but the system does not recognize you, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you receive the email with your username and temporary password, do not copy and paste them into the cmsdesk. You must type them in. If you get a message that the password is invalid, then you may be entering a character incorrectly. If you are typing the characters correctly but get an error message, please click the key icon again to have a different password sent to you.
Once logged in, follow these steps.
Change your username and password to match your Epic credentials so you can easily log in to make updates in the future. Click “Save”. Then make any other updates by following the tabs at the top of the screen, and click “Save” at the bottom of each page where you make changes.
Basic info: This is where upload your own headshot photo. Remove the blue placeholder graphic, then upload your image (any size), click preview, then click save.
Care info: this is where you can enter info about your practice, philosophy of care, etc. Be sure to click save.
Access Swedish Participation: This is where you indicate if you would like to be included in the rotation of providers offered to patients who call the 1-800-SWEDISH call center to find a physician. Your participation status is not viewable on the public Swedish.org website. More info
Resume info: Enter specialty and clinical interests, info on training, etc. Multiple specialties or clinical interests will need to be done carefully; the control key needs to be pressed if making multiple selections. This will be sent for approval before posting, and should go live within a week. If your specialty is Internal Medicine or Family medicine (etc) please also tag “Primary Care” if appropriate.
Swedish Locations: A drop-down list of Swedish clinics and offices. If your office is located at a Swedish office location, this saves you the time of entering address and phone number. If you are participating in Access Swedish, please include your general wait times for each location. Your wait times are not viewable on the public Swedish.org website.
Private Practice Location: enter your private office, phone number, website url, etc. If you are participating in Access Swedish, please include your general wait times for each location. Your wait times are not viewable on the public Swedish.org website.
The information you enter is posted on the web immediately (watch spelling please!), with the exception of specialty, schools attended and board certification. Please allow a week’s turnaround time for those fields to be confirmed and published.
Who is eligible for a Physician Profile in this referral service?
Physicians on Active status in good standing with the Swedish Medical Staff are eligible for the referral service. Please contact Medical Staff Services at 206-386-2550 for questions about your status or to learn how to change your status.
If you do not have a current photo, you may have one taken at Swedish Medical Photography at (206) 386-2371. Once you have a photo in .jpg format saved to your computer, you can upload it directly to your profile. No turnaround time; it gets posted immediately. After you log in, follow the prompts under the “Basic Info” tab. Be sure to hit save.
Turnaround time before publishing
Some of the fields are published immediately (name, office information, photo). Your specialty, board certification and education are reviewed by medical staff Services. Please allow one week for publishing.
Make the most of your profile by tagging your clinical interests
Potential patients usually search for doctors by Specialty or Clinical Interests. Please make sure these fields are complete and accurate. Your specialty should be your primary field of expertise – ideally you should just have one specialty and as many clinical interests as appropriate.
As an Active provider, you are invited to opt-in be included in the rotation of providers offered to patients who call the Swedish call center to find a physician. Make sure to follow the instructions in #4 and #6 above to indicate if you would like to participate in Access Swedish. If you choose not to participate in Access Swedish, patients can still find you online at Swedish.org using the “Find a Physician” tool after you have created a profile. If you are eligible but cannot log in
For a password reset, visit www.swedish.org/cmsdesk and click the 'key' icon. Your username and password will be emailed to you if the system can recognize your email address or user name. If you cannot use password reset please send an email to email@example.com.
Physicians may designate an administrator to complete profile updates on their behalf. If an administrator wants access to physicians' profiles, they must get approvals from all physicians first. Once this list of physicians is final, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with all the appropriate physicians cc'd on the email. The physicians must be cc'd, and a "reply all" with instructions will be sent.
