Swedish Medical Center participates with NMR and CASPR to provide the opportunity for both programs and applicants to consider selection options. The residency program directors evaluate the qualifications of all applicants to the programs before deciding who will be offered positions.

The NRMP Matching Process at SMC

Applicants requesting application information from the residency programs are directed to ERAS.
Applicants submit their application with their required letters of recommendation, transcripts, and deans' letters through ERAS for first-year positions.
Swedish Medical Center accepts the universal application and requires all materials to be submitted in full before an interview may be scheduled.
Program directors and the recruiting team determine who will be invited to interview.
Interviews are scheduled from November through January or February of each year. The interview team members then submit their ratings and collectively prepare a rank order.
Program informational packets are distributed during interviews
The designated staff person then enters the ranking list before the submission deadline.
As soon as match results are received and are appropriate to release, the results are shared with each program director and letters of appointment are mailed or emailed to each new resident member.

The CASPR Matching Process at SMC

Applicants submit their CASPR application with their required letters of recommendation, transcripts, etc.
Applicants forward specific application materials as designated by the residency program on the CASPR website.
As soon as match results are received and are appropriate to release, the results are shared with each program director and letters of appointment are mailed or emailed to each new resident member.
