Distinguished guest speaker, Thomas Schmalzried, M.D., will deliver a lecture on patient activity following replacement of the hip or knee joint. Dr. Schmalzried’s presentation will focus on the accumulating data that suggests the amount of activity after total hip or knee replacement, and not simply the duration in situ, influences the wear and survival of total joint replacements. A question and answer session will follow the lecture.
