Personalized Medicine is a disruptive innovation, part of the paradigm shift from volume-based to value-based, reactive to predictive, and passive to participatory healthcare. The goal of this symposium is to introduce Personalized Medicine to all health care professionals involved in the care of cancer patients, emphasizing the double meaning: one, caring for the whole patient, i.e. addressing the patient’s, and their families, socio-economic, psychological, environmental, and integrative medicine needs; and two, using genomic and epi-genomic alterations to identify “personalized approaches” to cancer risk assessment, prevention, screening, diagnosis, therapeutics, and survivorship.  Participants will learn practical applications for integrating genomic medicine, research and holistic approaches to personalize patient care.
