Prior to joining Swedish, the Edmonds hospital (formerly known as Stevens Hospital) was governed by the Public Hopsital District No. 2 of Snohomish County. The District's Board of Commissioners no longer oversees the day-to-day operations at Swedish Edmonds, but is still involved in some of the major decisions. It also manages the Verdant Health Commission, formerly South Snohomish County Commission for Health, to promote good health in the surrounding communities. Learn more at the Verdant Health web site.
