Swedish Neuroscience Research

The Swedish Neuroscience Institute is at the forefront of clinical care and many of our physicians perform clinical research to test the safety and effectiveness of new drugs and medical devices for diseases of the nervous system.

Patients who participate in clinical trials can receive FDA-approved investigational treatments that are not yet available outside of a research environment, and our research coordinators work closely with each patient and their physician to provide a predictable and comfortable clinical trial experience. Additionally, each participant has the satisfaction of knowing that they are contributing to improving the health and well-being of other patients just like themselves.

For more information about research at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute please see our list of active research studies.

NeuroNEXT

NeuroNEXT at Swedish Neuroscience Institute is one of only two Pacific Northwest sites for a nationwide consortium of 25 centers that conducts clinical trials for patients with diseases of the nervous system. The NeuroNEXT consortium is sponsored by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

Research at Swedish ALS Center

As a member of the Northeast ALS Consortium (NEALS), our institution has access to various resources with experience and knowledge in ALS research. We collaborate with other professional organizations and industry sponsors. We also receive up to date research information and innovative ideas to improve ALS patient care and disease understanding.
