Short Description

This study is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. Abruptio Placentae (AP), the premature separation of the normally implanted placentae, is a life-threatening complication of pregnancy. This study enrolls cases of AP and controls at three participating inner city hospitals in Lima, Peru. This study will try to associate the risk of AP with biological markers of low folate, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, and iron.
