Diabetes Cooking Classes
Keeping diabetes guidelines in mind, Bastyr University dietetic interns will show you how to make delicious meals that are loaded with nutrients, without a lot of fat, salt or sugar.

From cancer patient to survivor, there is an exercise activity appropriate for you. The class is co-sponsored by Team Survivor Northwest and focuses on stretching, strength training and cardio workouts. Mindfulness and Cancer
Join this class sponsored in partnership with Harmony Hills. Mindfulness meditation practice is becoming increasingly popular as a scientifically proven way to aid in healing from illness and to mitigate the effects of stress from our modern way of life.  In this class, participants will engage in simple mindfulness practices such as movement and sitting meditation and learn simple ways to incorporate mindfulness into daily life.  Participants will learn why mindfulness is “good medicine” for the body and soul and will be introduced to helpful ways to start their own mindfulness practice.

Principles of T’ai Chi – Mini Series
Join this mini-series to learn simple movements to ground, balance and relax in partnership with Harmony Hills.  The Principles of T'ai Chi provides an opportunity to learn an awareness practice for centering and calming the mind and body.  There is currently good research on the benefits of tai chi for balance, stress reduction, pain, anxiety and depression.  No prior experience is necessary. This easy alternative to regular yoga utilizes a chair for help in transitioning to and from the floor, and for certain seated exercises.

Joint Journey seminar

All About Puberty
This class provides a perfect opportunity to build a bridge with your 9- to 12-year-old to demystify the challenges of puberty.
