Dr Derel Finch named as Vice President of Medical Affairs for Swedish Cherry Hill

Swedish is pleased to announce that Derel Finch, M.D., FCCP, has accepted the position of Vice President of Medical Affairs (VPMA) for Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle. Dr. Finch officially starts as VPMA on Monday, Oct. 5 and will maintain his current role as Executive Medical Director of Critical Care and TeleICU for Swedish Health Services.

“Dr. Finch is a focused leader and his experience will help ensure the progress of clinical excellence at our Cherry Hill campus,” said June Altaras, CEO of Swedish Seattle (First Hill and Cherry Hill) and System CEO for Swedish Acute Care. “We are excited for his contributions and expertise as we continue our work to partner with the Cherry Hill community to expand our care and services.”

Dr. Finch will guide, manage and support all aspects of physician and provider practices at Swedish Cherry Hill. He will partner with fellow campus executives on strategy and operations, while ensuring strong interdepartmental collaboration for safe, quality care.

Dr. Finch is board certified in pulmonology, critical care medicine and internal medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Washington, completed his residency at Duke University, and received training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Washington.
