Swedish's Stroke Program Director, a Patient and a Spouse Participate in Radio Interview about the Condition

SEATTLE, May 22, 2007 -- In light of May being National Stroke Awareness Month, Swedish's Stroke Program Director William Likosky, M.D., took part in a patient education radio interview on May 20. The show, Patient Power, aired in the Greater Seattle area on KVI Radio (AM 570) and nationally over the Internet.

Dr. Likosky provided listeners with information about incident rates of stroke, what puts people at higher risk for stroke, signs/symptoms, the importance of swift diagnosis and treatment ("Time Equals Brain"), and related clinical research. In addition, Host Andrew Schorr interviewed a woman who was treated for stroke as well as a man who's wife was treated for stroke at Swedish.
