SEATTLE, May 28, 2004 -- Swedish Heart Institute (SHI) cardiologist and co-director of SHI's Electron Beam Tomography (EBT) program, Gary Oppenheim, M.D., was recently interviewed by a writer for the Puget Sound Business Journal (PSBJ) about the benefits of this medical technology.
The article spoke about how EBT has been shown to be the best technology available to help diagnose heart disease at its earliest stages - sometimes long before an electrocardiogram or treadmill test ever could - when the nation's No. 1 killer is still preventable, treatable or even reversible.
Swedish's EBT is currently the only one in Washington state.
