SEATTLE, June 11, 2008 -- The demand for registered nurses is expected to rise 21 percent to 35 percent through the first decade of the 21st Century. In light of this daunting statistic, it can be inspiring for people considering a career in nursing or for those who are already pursuing a career in the field to read about nurses who have committed themselves to their honorable profession for decades and made a difference to their patients and organization in the process.
Two such nurses from Swedish were recently profiled for articles in different publications.
One was a piece about Zita Niemeyer, R.N., manager of Surgical Services at Swedish/Ballard, that was published in the monthly Ballard Journal newspaper. To read that article, click here.
The second was about Kate Rogers, R.N., who recently retired from Swedish as the former administrative director of Surgical Services at the First Hill Campus. To read that article, click here.
