Come See the New Swedish/Issaquah This Saturday

It’s not every day you get a chance to build a hospital from the ground up. In fact, the last time it happened in King County was 25 years ago.

Help us celebrate this historic milestone this Saturday, July 9 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the new Swedish/Issaquah, and get an up close and personal view of an innovative approach to health care that’s all about helping the community be well, get well and stay well.

At the event, you can:

  • Meet our primary-care physicians and specialists, and talk with them about your health questions.
  • Get free health screenings (glucose, blood pressure, BMI, total cholesterol)
  • Tour our operating rooms and interventional suites, our no-wait ER and Medical Imaging Department, as well as the Swedish Cancer Institute/Issaquah.
  • Take free community health education classes.
  • Peruse the health and wellness products in our retail shops.

Plus there are lots of fun activities for the whole family:

  • Bring in your favorite stuffed animal for a check up at our Teddy Bear Clinic.
  • Get an autograph by retired Mariner John Olerud; and say hi to Blitz of the Seattle Seahawks and Cool Bird of the Seattle Thunderbirds.
  • Be one of the first 2,000 kids to complete the “Stamping Around Swedish Passport” and get a free Swedish Build a Bear.
  • Stop by the Highlands Day Festival next door for children’s activities plus music by local high school students.

Swedish/Issaquah has been many years in the making and would not have been possible without involvement, input and support from the local community. That’s why we’re looking forward to celebrating with the community this Saturday and giving everyone a chance to preview the building before it opens for patients on July 14.

The new campus is located at 751 N.E. Blakely Drive off of I-90's exit 18, For details about the open house, visit http://www.swedishissaquah.org.

Hope to see you there.
