This year, Swedish’s Annual Oncology Symposium will present “New Concepts in the Treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma.”
The symposium is designed to educate and update physicians and other healthcare professionals about the treatment of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, or liver cancer. Using a multi-disciplinary approach, attendees will be exposed to the latest therapy options, screening techniques and emerging technologies. Interactive audience participation in management recommendations and discussions with experts will also be included.
The incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma in the U.S. has increased over the last decade and is demanding more attention from healthcare providers. The National Cancer Institute estimates that approximately 24,120 new cases are diagnosed each year in the U.S.
Healthcare providers specializing in oncology, radiology, surgery, pathology, internal medicine, transplant and hepatology are invited to attend the symposium, taking place May 6, 2011 at Swedish Medical Center’s Glaser Auditorium (747 Broadway, Seattle, WA).
