Swedish is grateful to the many generous supporters of the Swedish Division of Thoracic Surgery. Community partnerships are vital to the success and growth of our program, and the fact that many of these gifts were made in gratitude for the care people received makes them incredibly meaningful to us. These gifts will help us continue to develop our research efforts and improve thoracic surgery for future patients.
Thoracic Surgery Research & Education Fund
The Thoracic Surgery Research and Education Fund supports specific research activities in the Swedish Division of Thoracic Surgery including research in advanced and novel clinical treatments for cancers of the thorax, and investigations of benign esophageal, pulmonary and pleural conditions.
This fund also supports a thoracic fellowship each year that provides an intensive and wide ranging clinical experience in thoracic and esophageal surgery and thoracic oncology. Swedish provides a unique opportunity for training in this field in the United States and believes this is an important way to promote and influence the advancement of the brightest surgical talents in oncologic and minimally invasive surgery.
