The certified nurse-midwives who practice at Swedish/Ballard are registered nurses and graduates of an accredited program for American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM). They are health-care providers who provide a full spectrum of care for women before, during and after childbirth — building a relationship based in trust that allows for a regular exchange of information.
Certified nurse-midwives have the skills, knowledge and experience to deliver your baby safely and independently. They also work closely with physicians when indicated for consultations or referral if complications arise.
