Pain Consultation
The Pain and Headache Center works closely with a patient's primary-care physician. In fact, in about 30 percent of all cases, the center is able to provide a suggested treatment plan after just one patient visit. For another 30 percent of all patients, pain specialists partner with a patient's primary-care physician to begin both pharmacological and non-drug therapies. Once pain-management strategies have been optimized -- typically four to five visits -- patients are referred back to their primary-care physicians.
