Dr. David specializes in spinal disorders, including back and neck injuries, with a focus on nonsurgical treatment options. Dr. David listens to each patient’s story and his goal is to educate and help patients understand the causes of their symptoms. With compassion, a team approach and cutting-edge technology, Dr. David provides treatment options to reduce pain, and improve function and quality of life. Foltz, M.D., is a neurosurgeon who performs surgery in the craniocervical junction (the area where the skull and spine meet.)  He is also the director of the Ben and Catherine Ivy Center for Advanced Brain Tumor Treatment at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Foltz specializes in brain-tumor surgery, with a special focus on patients with brain cancer, including glioblastoma multiforme. Dr. Foltz cares deeply for his patients, knowing that brain tumors are a life-changing event, and his goal is to bring the resources together to fight their disease with the best treatment options available. thumb_Gwinn-Ryder.jpgRyder P. Gwinn, M.D., is a board certified neurosurgeon and the director of Functional Neurosurgery at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Gwinn cares for patients with neurologic disorders such as chronic pain, compression syndromes, movement disorders and epilepsy. He listens to each patient’s story and provides a treatment plan to remove barriers to a better quality of life. He uses traditional neurosurgical techniques, but also uses neuromodulation and other minimally invasive techniques to preserve the normal body structure while alleviating underlying dysfunction. thumb_Hanscom-David.JPGDavid A. Hanscom, M.D., is an orthopedic spine surgeon. His focus is on the surgical treatment of complex spinal deformities such as scoliosis and kyphosis. Other conditions he treats include degenerative disorders, fractures, tumors, and infections of all areas of the spine. He has expertise with those who have had multiple failed surgeries. As many repeat surgeries are complicated, he works with a team to optimize each patient's nutrition, mental approach, medications, physical conditioning, and overall health as part of the process. Hsiang, M.D., Ph.D., is the director of the Spine Center at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute at the Cherry Hill campus, with board certifications in neurosurgery and spine surgery. Dr. Hsiang has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals and is also the author of the article, "Spinal Stenosis," in the online clinical reference, eMedicine. Dr. Hsiang specializes in the surgical treatment of complex spinal disorders with a special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery. Dr. Hsiang works to relieve the symptoms and improve the quality of life for his patients with a team approach to care. Jost, M.D., is a neurosurgeon at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with brain tumors as well as other cranial and spinal disorders, trauma and injuries. Dr. Jost’s goal is to makes patients feel at ease during the entire patient experience, while giving them the proper care administered as safely and carefully as possible. With deep respect for each member of the health-care team, and a common goal of outstanding patient care, Dr. Jost provides her patients with better quality of life. Newell, M.D., is co-executive director of the Swedish Neuroscience Institute and is a practicing neurosurgeon with specialties in cerebrovascular neurosurgery, brain aneurysms, spine surgery, stroke, and arteriovenous malformations. Dr. Newell is board certified in neurological surgery and is also certified in Gamma Knife and CyberKnife – two noninvasive treatment technologies offered at the Institute’s Radiosurgery Center. Under his leadership, the Swedish Neuroscience Institute’s ongoing mission is to provide patients with excellent care using the latest technologies, while offering a comprehensive range of services and breadth of experience. thumb_Nora-Peter.jpgPeter C. Nora, M.D., is the medical director of Swedish Neuroscience Specialists and director of the Deep Brain Stimulation Program at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Nora focuses on degenerative conditions of the spine with clinical interests in minimally invasive spine surgery, movement disorders and Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Nora looks at all treatment options after listening to each patient’s story, and using a comprehensive team approach, includes the patient as part of the decision-making team. Dr. Oskouian specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex spinal disorders, including complex spinal cases such as fractures, spinal deformities and revision surgery for those patients who have had multiple procedures. With the understanding that each patient is unique, Dr. Oskouian spends time educating his patients so they understand the treatment options and outcomes.
