Neuro-Ophthalmology
Not all vision problems stem from the eye; some also involve the brain. The neuro-ophthalmology clinic affiliated with the SNI cares for patients with visual problems related to disorders of the nervous system.
These include conditions such as:
- Optic nerve disorders
- Loss of vision from central nervous system disease
- Double vision (diplopia)
- Involuntary movement of the eyes (nystagmus).
The neuro-ophthalmology clinic has the specialized experience and resources to help people of all ages with brain-related visual function and eye-movement problems.
It is the only full-time neuro-ophthalmology clinic in Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho.
The clinic offers a comprehensive range of evaluation, diagnostic and referral services for the full spectrum of neuro-ophthalmologic conditions — including rare and complex disorders. It also includes an MS eye clinic.
