Management of Symptoms
The symptoms of multiple sclerosis are some of the most varied of any disease. Each patient has different symptoms depending on the location of the areas of damage caused by the multiple sclerosis.
Damage can occur anywhere in the brain, spinal cord or optic nerves. The number, size, location and degree of damage within each lesion differs with each patient. Symptoms are unique to each person and can can change his or her course of disease in unpredictable ways.

Three strategies to decrease symptoms

Disease-modifying therapies to lessen the number of multiple sclerosis attacks, and thus the severity of symptoms.
- Treat an attack to reverse the damage.
- If symptoms persist, treat the symptoms directly.
