The specialists at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute (SNI) are dedicated to the treatment and research of neurological disorders. The institute is located at Swedish/Cherry Hill in Seattle.
Chief Medical Director, Marc R. Mayberg, M.D., and Chief of Neuroscience, David W. Newell, M.D., lead a team of neurologists, neurosurgeons and subspecialists who are focused on expanding access to critical neuroscience services and specialized treatments.
SNI has made a commitment to ensuring quality outcomes by acquiring the most advanced technology and by participating in leading-edge research.
Using telemedicine to expand access to care
Through several TeleHealth programs, including TeleICU, TeleEEG, TeleNeurosurgery and Telestroke, Swedish uses computer telemedicine technology to link SNI expertise to clinics, hospitals and emergency departments in numerous Washington communities.
Research and Training
Through clinical trials, our staff evaluates new drugs and medical devices, and is able to provide patients therapeutic options that would otherwise be unavailable to them.
SNI also is helping educate the next generation of neurosurgery subspecialists by offering advanced training in multiple fellowships, such as epilepsy and skull-base surgery.
