About the Eye Surgery Center
State-of-the-art facility
From admission to recovery, every aspect of your surgery is handled in one place. The Swedish Eye Center is located on the sixth floor of the Arnold Building, which is adjacent to the main hospital on Swedish's First Hill campus. This one-stop location ensures that the right equipment is always close at hand.
At the Swedish Eye Center, surgeons can choose from five operating rooms, as well as three laser rooms. Each is set up with the tools and technology necessary to fully support specific procedures. The majority of eye surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis. But should you require an overnight stay, Swedish’s First Hill campus is just next door.
Specialized staff
Patients at the Swedish Eye Center also benefit from the skills of a dedicated staff that provides precision teamwork. Like the surgeons they assist, the Eye Center's certified nurses and technicians are experienced and specifically trained in ophthalmic procedures. These teams of physicians, nurses and technicians have proven track records in working together to ensure the most successful outcomes possible.
A comfortable environment
The Swedish Eye Center is more than high tech. It's designed with sensitivity to the needs of patients. The center has its own private admitting room so patients who haven’t preregistered can take care of their paperwork without walking to another area of the hospital. The Eye Center also has two comfortable waiting areas, a larger one in the main reception area and a smaller one where patients are prepped for laser surgery. Both are available to family and friends.
A place for reassurance
Many patients have last-minute questions before surgery that can be answered by talking with a nurse in special rooms that are used for patient education. At the Swedish Eye Center, the goal is for all patients to be comfortable with their surgery and confident in their care.
