Robert G. Chaffee, MD was born in Billings, Montana. He is married and has two daughters.

He graduated from the University of Chicago in 1967 and the University of Chicago Medical School in 1971. He completed his internship in Medicine at the University of Washington in 1972.

In that same year he started his residency at the University of Washington Hospital, working until 1973, when he left to serve with the 3rd Marine Division in Okinawa Japan, completing his military service as Lt. Commander with the U.S. Navy Dispensary in Imperial Beach, California in 1975. Dr. Chaffee then completed his Medical Residency in 1976.

Dr. Chaffee served as Acting Instructor in Medicine at the University of Washington Hospital until 1977, at which time he became Senior Fellow in Gastroenterology. He opened his private practice in 1979 in Edmonds, Washington . He and his colleague Jason Schneier, M.D. Joined practices in 1986 at the Kruger Clinic where they formed the Digestive Disease Center.

Dr. Chaffee is currently seeing patients in our Mill Creek office on Wednesdays and Thursdays and performing procedures at our Edmonds office on Tuesdays.
