After completing fellowships in pediatric cardiology and electrophysiology (the study and treatment of heart  rhythm disturbances) at Texas Children’s Hospital, I practiced for six years at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children, where I was the first pediatric electophysiologist in Canada.  For the next 17 years I was at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and moved to Washington in 2004.
