Dr. Schneier graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1972; he attended Medical School at the University of Pittsburgh where he received his M.D. in 1976.
He moved to the Puget Sound area where he completed his Residency in 1979 at the University of Washington, returning to the East Coast for his Fellowship in Gastroenterology, at Tufts at the New England Medical Center from 1979 until 1981.
Dr. Schneier came back to the Puget Sound area in 1981, when he joined Stevens Hospital as an active staff member and opened his private practice in Edmonds. In 1986, he joined Robert Chaffee in forming the Digestive Disease Center, which later became Puget Sound Gastroenterology.
