Registration & Preadmissions

The more you know about what to expect and the less you have to deal with on the day of your surgery, the more comfortable you’re likely to feel.

For all patients, a preadmission appointment within 10 days of surgery is required. Typically, the pre-admission process occurs within 10 days of your surgery, especially if blood work is required. The appointment lasts 30 to 90 minutes, depending on your procedure. For many outpatients and some inpatients, the pre-admission process can be done by phone.

During your visit, we will:

  • Walk you through your upcoming surgery, reviewing the details of the procedure and reinforcing your doctor’s presurgical instructions
  • Answer your questions
  • Address special needs (language interpreter or dietary concerns after surgery)
  • Take care of logistics (lab work, X-rays and tests) and paperwork

The more we know about you, the better we’re able to care for you and accommodate your needs.
