Pacific Northwest Urology Robotic Symposium
Friday-Saturday, September 23-24, 2011
Seattle Science Foundation
550 17th Ave, Suite 600
Seattle, Washington
Robotic surgery is becoming the standard of care for the treatment of renal and prostate disease in the Pacific Northwest. This symposium will provide insight into patient selection, operating room set up, port placement, intraoperative teamwork, and management of complex surgical issues.
Over this two-day course, three live-case demonstrations, video instruction and presentations by internationally known surgeons currently practicing in high volume centers will provide both a basic foundation and advanced knowledge of state-of-the-art robotic renal and prostate surgery.
A separate robotic surgery didactic track dedicated to allied health professionals will be presented. A specialty nurse, trained in first assisting for robotic procedures, will lead discussions related to the role and skill set of the bedside assistant as part of intraoperative management and team facilitation during robotic procedures.
Participants will also have the opportunity to tour Swedish’s fully integrated robotic surgery suite designed for robotic procedures. This was the first robotic surgery suite of its kind when constructed.
