Why does Issaquah need a hospital?

Until now, Greater Issaquah-Sammamish had been one of the few communities of its size without a hospital. And with the community growing as fast as it is, the need for a local hospital becomes greater every day. The number of people coming to our existing Issaquah campus, which opened in 2005, is a good indication of just how critical the need is. Last year alone, we had more than 50,000 patient visits. We are thrilled to be able to meet the health-care needs of the community with this new medical center in the Issaquah Highlands.

Where will the new campus be located?

The new campus will be located at 751 N.E. Blakely Drive in the Issaquah Highlands, just off I-90 at Exit 18.

What services will the hospital provide?

The new campus will provide a broad range of inpatient and outpatient medical services including oncology, cardiac care, obstetrics, pediatric specialty care, emergency services, primary care and a host of other medical and surgical services and specialists. See a list of our physicians.

Why Swedish?

Many people currently cross Lake Washington to receive care at Swedish. In fact, Swedish is already the second-largest provider of inpatient services to Eastside residents along the I-90 corridor, and third-largest provider for Eastside residents overall.

We are committed to bringing needed health-care services to Issaquah and surrounding areas. Swedish already has:

In addition, Swedish helps to meet the breast-health needs of Eastside communities with the Swedish Breast Care Express, our mobile mammography center.

Are there other ways that Swedish is serving the community?

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, Swedish is committed to improving the health of the community. We are a proud sponsor of a number of community events and agencies, including:

In addition, Swedish offers a number of free or low-cost classes on vital health topics.

What can my kids do at the grand opening?

Have your kids bring their favorite teddy bear, doll or toy to our "Teddy Bear Clinic" in the ER for a check-up. Visit the caricature artist on the second floor to get a wacky portrait, then head to third floor for a fun photo-op (then decorate a keepsake frame for your picture). On the fourth floor, we'll have finger-casting for kids. Plus, the first 2,000 kids can get a Swedish passport card to redeem for a Swedish teddy bear.

After you tour our new facility, enjoy more family fun outside at Highlands Day:
