Pharmacy Practice Residency Program
The Swedish Medical Center ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency Program provides an exciting and challenging opportunity for individuals to develop and refine skills as pharmacy practitioners, build confidence, gain experience in prospective project development, develop precepting and teaching skills, and enhance patient care in a variety of health care settings. This PGY1 program provides one year of training in all aspects of pharmaceutical care, including acute and ambulatory patient care, medical/health care professional education, and clinical practice management.
Core rotations include critical, medical, pediatric, neonatal, and surgical intensive care medicines, internal medicine, oncology, kidney/liver/pancreas transplantation, general pediatrics, special care nursery, family practice, anticoagulation clinic, antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacy practice administration. The flexible curriculum also provides the resident with the opportunity to be involved in planning, implementing and evaluating new rotations and services.
