Course Description
Course Goal
To provide prescribing practitioners with the information needed to safely and effectively prescribe opioids and methadone where appropriate.
Target Audience
This online module is intended for Washington State practitioners who wish to fulfill criteria for prescribing long acting opioids according to the law HB 2876.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this CME activity, participants will be able to provide better patient care through an increased ability to:
- Describe basic methadone pharmacology
- Initiate methadone in both an opioid naive patient or as a an opioid rotation
- Discuss safe prescribing practices with regards to methadone
