The Diabetes Management Update – 2011 course will provide an overview of diabetes management with a focus on heart disease, weight loss issues, gestational diabetes, titrating insulin, women’s issues in diabetes and prevention of amputations. Short “rapid-fire” sessions will provide succinct updates on a variety of diabetes topics including incretins, DPP4 inhibitors, nutrition and exercise instructions that can be provided in the office. The goal is to provide primary-care physicians and internal medicine physicians and allied health professionals with the basic tools to treat various issues of this complex disease in the primary care setting.
