This symposium will focus on the fundamentals of anticoagulation, safe and effective methods for prescribing anticoagulation and antiplatelet therapy, indications for the duration of treatment with oral antiplatelet and antithrombin therapies and resources available to assist in the management of these patients. A highlight of the conference will be the presentation of clinical case scenarios that emphasize the risk versus benefits of anticoagulation therapy in a real-world environment.
