Dozens of Swedish-Affiliated Physicians Recognized by Peers in Seattle Magazine's Annual Top Doctors Survey

SEATTLE , July 17, 2009 – Dozens of Swedish-affiliated physicians were recently recognized by their peers as part of Seattle magazine's 9th-annual Top Doctors survey, the results of which were published in the July issue.
According to Seattle magazine, their 2009 Top Doctors list was the result of responses they received to a survey mailed to more than 10,000 physicians in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Kitsap counties. The mailing list came from a national provider of such lists and was verified by the magazine for its inclusiveness. The survey asked physicians to name the provider they would seek out or recommend to loved ones in 110 specialty areas, regardless of hospital, clinic or health-plan affiliation. More than 10,000 nominations were submitted, with more than 4,050 physicians nominated. Several factors determined which names appeared in this list, including the number of nominations received by each physician, the area of specialty, the number of physicians in each specialty, as well as vote and geographic distribution within each specialty of those nominated.

According to the magazine, advisory panel members did not review or influence the choice of doctors who appear on the final list.
