First Hill campus

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Swedish/First Hill located at 747 Broadway in Seattle, WA.

Please note, Volunteer Services does not facilitate any internships, externships, observerships or shadowing experiences; these are arranged through educational programs at colleges and vocational schools.

Along with most hospitals in the greater Seattle-area, Swedish does not offer a summer-only volunteer experience. All of our opportunities require a minimum commitment of 6 consecutive months of service. In fairness to all, there are no exceptions to this policy.

If you are inquiring about holding babies, it is the most often requested opportunity (an average of 10 inquiries per week) received. Our cadre of volunteers holding babies are very committed and openings for this opportunity are not anticipated in the foreseeable future. Your inquiry is sincerely appreciated - it is truly wonderful the outpouring of concern and offers to be of service to our most fragile patients.

High School students (16 to 18 years of age) are limited to volunteer placements in our Gift Shop.
