Ray Williams

Senior Vice President, Swedish Health Services

Ray Williams serves as senior vice president for Swedish Health Services. Since joining Swedish in January 2010, Williams has overseen Swedish Medical Group (SMG), Minor & James Medical and led Swedish’s strategy for physician alignment in the market. With his direction, SMG has evolved into an integrated medical group operating under consolidated leadership. The organization has experienced significant growth as Williams has focused on quality care, financial discipline, developing physician leaders and integrating technology. SMG now includes 900 providers in more than 100 primary- and specialty-care clinics throughout the Greater Seattle area.

Williams has more than 27 years of health-care experience. Before joining Swedish, he was a vice president at Sentara Health System in Virginia. At Sentara, he directed the system’s medical group; developed and grew the ambulatory medicine, urgent care and managed care divisions; and led numerous other outpatient services. Over the last decade, it has been Williams’ privilege to advise executives and medical groups around the country on how to improve health-care delivery.

Williams earned his master’s degree in business administration from Old Dominion University.
