Marcia Peterson serves as director of strategy for Swedish Health Services. In this role she provides analytical support to drive strategic decision making and ensure alignment around organizational goals. She is responsible for the Major Institution Master Plan (MIMP) work at Swedish.
Prior to coming to Swedish, Peterson was a product manager and usability engineer for GE’s enterprise-wide clinical information software, where she led development teams in designing a user interface based on Human Factors research. Before joining GE, she was a software product manager and consultant for several healthcare technology companies, providing market intelligence and client support for new product development. At HBSI (now Solucient Health), she was the director of marketing for a hospital benchmarking software product, collecting and reporting data from more than 600 hospitals nationwide.
Before working in the healthcare technology sector, Peterson held a number of positions at the Providence Health System, which at the time included over 14 hospitals in four Western states, health plans, long term care, home health and physician clinics. She holds a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Washington.
