Cindy Strauss

Chief Legal Counsel

Cindy Strauss chief legal counsel for Swedish. She joined the organization in 1999.

As a member of the medical center's Senior Leadership Team, Strauss reports to Swedish's president and CEO and provides legal advice and counsel to the organization, its Boards and management. She is responsible for identifying legal issues through active involvement in Board and operational meetings.

As a health-care attorney, Strauss has experience in all aspects of health-care law, including affiliations and mergers, fraud and abuse, reimbursement, hospital-physician relations, contract drafting and review, patient-care issues, compliance, and risk management.

Prior to joining Swedish, Strauss was associate general counsel for the Providence Health System, a four-state health-care system based in Seattle. She began her legal career as an attorney with the law firm Davis Wright Tremaine.

Strauss earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and a J.D. from Cornell University.
