SEATTLE, Nov. 9, 2005 -- Swedish Medical Center recently became the first hospital in Washington state to begin using the latest (four-arm) daVinci robotic-assisted Surgical System to allow urologic surgeons to more easily and efficiently remove cancerous prostates. The technology allows surgeons to perform this procedure -- and other endoscopic surgeries (those involving the use of a camera inserted into the body) -- in a more minimally invasive fashion, which results in numerous benefits for patients.
