Jennifer Hansberry, R.N., B.S.N., is the Administrative Director of Research for the Swedish Center for Clinical Research and Innovation and has been a key component of supporting the research activities of Swedish Medical Center since October of 1999.

In partnership with the Chief Science Officer, Hansberry is responsible for providing direction and leadership for the administrative management of all research projects performed within Swedish Medical Center, which includes working closely with Swedish's many internal and central Institutional Review Boards on the steady array of federal and commercial trials in which Swedish Health Services is involved. Since 2007, Swedish has taken part in more than 600 clinical trials annually, supporting the many researchers who come to Swedish for research both locally and abroad. She provides oversight of the central research office providing both pre- and post-award management of federal and non-federally funded research projects and integration within the many Swedish properties and affiliates.

Since becoming director, some of Hansberry's major accomplishments have included redesigning and growing the Research Center from a single department to twelve successful departments, instituting an agreement with the Western Institutional Review Board to provide review services of commercially sponsored research trials for Swedish, and streamlining the process for initiating clinical trials. She has also overseen collaborations with many of the area’s premier institutions and research organizations.

Prior to becoming Administrative Director of Research, Hansberry managed federal and commercially sponsored research projects at Swedish in the areas of pain and diabetes for six years.

Hansberry earned her bachelor's degree from Seattle Pacific University. She is a member of the Society of Research Administrators, Washington Biotechnology and Biomedical Association, and a long standing Board Member for the Northwest Association for Biomedical Research.
